He and wife Margaret, his assistant, perform magic tricks all over. They recently worked a yacht party in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, where they did individual table-side illusions for each of the guests at the meal. They’ve worked in several states across the southeast and their popularity is growing.
A member of the largest magicians’ association in the world, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Linton recently did a show at a Brotherhood convention in Daytona and had a chance to meet and learn a few things from famed street magician David Blaine.
“I took a class with him, and he was just like you’d known him all his life ,” Linton said. “ His class started at 11 p.m., and there were only seven people in it, so I got a little one-one-one time with him . ”
Blaine isn’t his high-profile magician buddy.
“Harry Allen calls me weekly,” Linton said. “He’s the teacher for all the sitcom magic that happens on television, and he’s a good friend of mine. He runs the Daytona Magic Shop, and his is one of the greatest sleight-of-hand magicians I’ve ever known.”
Linton weaves new tricks and old into his shows. He and his wife create their story lines together, tailoring each show to the audience at hand. Recently, they put on a show for the Rahal-Miller car dealership in Marianna. In one trick, he made two little cars and a truck appear inside a box.
One of his most recent comedic routines involves a magician who unexpectedly gets a new wand and has a few mishaps as he discovers its particular magical powers.
